Job Summary: MIU City University Miami is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Academic Coordinator to support our academic team. This full-time position will report to the Associate Dean and focus on collaborating closely with professors to ensure smooth academic operations and student success. As an Academic Coordinator, you’ll play a crucial role in assisting faculty with course planning, resource coordination, and overall program support.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with professors to support course development and implementation.
- Assist faculty in scheduling, organizing academic resources, and coordinating classroom activities.
- Monitor and update course materials, ensuring they align with academic standards and university policies.
- Work with faculty to address any instructional challenges, offering administrative and logistical support as needed.
- Coordinate faculty meetings and academic events, ensuring smooth communication between departments.
- Maintain accurate academic records, reports, and documentation.
- Actively support faculty in the planning and execution of academic projects, events, and workshops.
- Stay informed on university policies and procedures, ensuring professors have the necessary information and support to succeed in their roles.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (required).
- 1–3 years of experience in an academic or administrative role, preferably in higher education.
- Bilingual English-Spanish.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with the broader Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with faculty and staff.
- Flexibility to work a 40-hour week, which may include occasional evenings and weekends.
